Wish Shepherd (Unknown Type) Adult Female in Arlington, Texas

My story
Am I your Wish come true?Wish is roughly 3 years old and has been in her foster home for 5 months. Wish has become a completely different dog to the one who came through the door 5 months ago. She has been spayed, is up to date on her shots and underwent HW treatment. Beyond the medical needs, Wish's personality changes are a complete 180.

Wish loves all people. With proper and slow introductions she enjoys the company of dogs her size or bigger, but is not a fan of small dogs. She loves to find a sunny spot to lay and nap throughout the day. She still has a good case of the zoomies a couple of times a week and her foster family finds this quite hilarious.

She is extremely athletic and would make a great jogging companion or even someone who would want to work with her on fly ball or agility. She has never met a squeaky toy she doesn't love and can keep herself entertained for a good while. She is house trained and crate trained, but her foster family leaves her out of the crate as she is non destructive. Wish is extremely food motivated and smart and knows "sit, paw, wait, and come."Wish spent the first 3 years of her life chained up outside. It is important for her family to know that she is continuing to learn how to socialize appropriately with dogs, however does not show signs of aggression just extremely impolite manners with no sense of boundaries or how to introduce herself.

Wish also has anxiety and this is mostly apparent when doing new things (adoption event, going to a new house, meeting new dogs) and can be given medication to help her through these experiences. She has lived with her fur foster sibling (Golden Retriever) and really enjoys playing with her, but is still learning self-regulation when her fur foster wants to be done playing.Wish would do wonderful as an only dog, with a family who could show her the love she deserves. Older children recommended as she has not had any experience with younger children (kids in her foster home are 10, 14 &16).To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. We don't get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Wish, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
